4 Week Series on Discomfort

1 Hr | Sliding Scale $5-$20

This series will cover how I have used meditation and restorative yoga to reconnect with my body, find the edge in my practice and life, and sit with discomfort. Reminder that I am not a therapist or doctor and am teaching from lived experience.

These sessions may be uncomfortable at times and I invite you to email me at shannon@fringeish.com if you have any questions about the details of the classes outside of what is provided below.

Series is created with intent of attendance for all classes, but I understand we all have scheduling limitations.

October 5: Sitting With Our Body
We will focus on an in depth body scan and connection to our bodies, along with any thoughts, sensations, or feelings that arise. Prop supported restorative asana will be offered.

October 12: Finding the Edge
Focusing on increasing discernment through moving meditation. Slow Hatha practice (chair or mat) will be offered.

October 19: Sitting with Discomfort: Uncomfortable Feelings
Focus is on noticing discomfort around emotions that can arise during meditation and our daily lives. Short Hatha practice (chair or mat) and restorative asana will be offered.

October 26: Sitting with Discomfort: Uncomfortable Thoughts
Focus is on noticing discomfort around thoughts that can arise during meditation and in our daily lives. Short Hatha practice (chair or mat) and restorative asana will be offered.


Helpful props: Will vary by week but generally  2 Blocks/Large Books or 2 Small Pillows;  1 Bolster or 2 Large Pillows; 1 Strap/Scarf/Belt; 2 Blankets/Towels
