Hip Openers

Hip openers were the poses that really taught me to sit with discomfort.

They have taught me not to push into length, but relax into it.

To let others help, like gravity, time, and motion.

To allow stillness and simply witness where I am and what my practice is in the moment.

And how muscles hold memories; that sometimes it takes work on and off the mat dealing with trauma, fear, or emotional discomfort to work past a physical issue.
